I spent a year in India. It can be a very intense place. I was quite afraid of India until I took the plunge and bathed in the Ganges river in Varanasi…where the WHO has measured the bacterial and fecal levels at several hundred times above the safe level… just as Indian pilgrims do as an act of faith and cleansing of sins. When my head emerged from the brown murky sludge… I saw India through entirely new eyes… I felt empowered and everything felt safe.

also the Children of Isreal flock to India like nowhere else.. some of the greatest Jewish folks I have ever met I found in low key, out of the way places there. Some very brave and adventurous ones.

Its a very big and fascinating places… I recommend two months if you change jobs or have the time. Two weeks in India would go by like two New York minutes.

You got a lot of the reasons India is on the list. I don’t think I will quite have two months, but I would love to get there for a long trip.
